At War for Peace

16 06 2009

Prepare for battle. Be ready for a sneak attack at any moment. In the calm, seek Him even more. Take great caution that fear or apathy do not creep in and begin to dilute your faith.  Seek the truth. As followers of Jesus, we hope recognize the blatant lies of the evil one, but are sometimes tricked by his less obvious deceptions. Don’t forget the truth. Recognize the destructive plan of the enemy, and oppose it.

We are under attack every day, every day we are at war. There is a battle raging for souls. We must remember that we don’t battle people; to forget that there is more to life than what meets the eye of our human understanding is to believe in one of the greatest lies.

Ephesians 6:11-13
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

In the midst of the storm of battle, let’s remember why we fight! We are pursuing peace. We seek to establish His kingdom on earth, not ours. We must seek His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, and we must do this in the same manner that Jesus did…in love…in a deep, heart-wrenching love for our souls.

Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

When it all comes down, when the castles built on foundations of sand come crashing down, turn to the Rock of Ages. I would rather be out in the midst of it all with the wind and the rain of the storm beating around me, yet standing firm on the Rock, then to be trapped in a beautiful castle on the verge of collapse,  built on the weak foundation of lies.

Proverbs 3:21-26

My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, you will not be afraid;  when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick note to thank you all for reading my blog over the last few months. I am currently mulling some things over, and plan to publish some of my thoughts once they are further developed. Look for new posts in the next week or two.

God bless!
