This is very accurate…it can also be applied to our health care system and the “canaries” who are being exposed to toxic foods being sold as healthy foods but are causing everything from allergies to cancer,then being treated with drugs(with side effects)-instead of treating the cause.This of course doesn’t include a healthy lifestyle without proper exercise and getting older:)By the way,isn’t it the office of the “prophet” or the “watchman” that gives warning to the church of correction and direction in such situations of dangerous toxins?John the Baptist was a ground breaker like that;after 400 years he broke the silence,of course the shepherds with choirs of angels (Luke 2:8-9) and others were part of that too.Check out Matthew 11:(7-19)Where it is written of John and he who is “least” in the Kingdom of God being “greater” than he.Perhaps even a lowly sparrow that falls to the ground has worth,or a canary in a mine shaft,at least the miners thought so.

Hi Travis, I really enjoy reading your blog. You’ll be excited to know that our church is pursuing a very aggressive investment portfolio we are taking our church of about 30 and planting five missional churches around the DFW metroplex, and potentially more elsewhere. Please pray for us, it’s exciting, but of course we are casting aside the world’s security in the process and need prayer for boldness.

I wanted to share a book title with you. I think that you would absolutely love it. It’s called Majestic Destiny, and the author is a pastor in Oregon named Curtis Tucker. It’s all about Christ’s coming Kingdom and the hope of ruling with Christ that we are called to. If you read it, let me know what you think.
